The T-28 was initially developed in 1932 at the Leningrad Kirov Plant as a three turreted medium or breakthrough tank. Vehicle from the first production batch took part in the 1933 May day parade in Moscow. The T-28 was powered by a M-17L V12 petrol engine that developed 1400rpm / 500bhp, giving a road speed of 37km/h ( 22mph) with a range of 220km (135 Miles ). The T-28 was produced from 1933 to 1940.
